First, we’ll review your mental-health history, current symptoms, prior treatments, and overall goals. If you don’t already have a formal diagnosis, our expert psychological testing can provide one and help determine whether prTMS® is the right approach.

2. EEG Brain Mapping & Neuro-Cognitive Assessment

Using noninvasive, real-time EEG data, we’ll develop a personalized “brainwave map.” This map highlights areas of dysregulation that may contribute to depression, anxiety, sleep issues, inattention, or cognitive symptoms. prTMS®: Frequently Asked Questions

Is rTMS safe?

Yes. This is an FDA-cleared, safe treatment option for depression and other mental health conditions. It does not require anesthesia, does not cause memory loss, and carries no systemic side effects like weight gain or fatigue.

Do rTMS treatments hurt?

No, rTMS shouldn’t hurt. Most patients feel only a light tapping sensation on the scalp during treatment, with any mild discomfort typically decreasing after the first few sessions. We always put the patient’s comfort first, so don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any concerns or requests.

Do prTMS® plans use Apollo TMS machines?

Yes, our prTMS® plans use the latest Apollo TMS therapy equipment for treatment.

How long does a typical session take?

Sessions generally last 20 to 40 minutes, depending on your personalized treatment plan.

What are the side effects of prTMS® treatment?

Because prTMS® treatment stimulates specific brain regions, the most common minor side effects include:

Mild tapping or tingling at the treatment site
Temporary scalp sensitivity
Occasional mild headache

These effects are short-lived and typically resolve quickly.

How soon will I notice results?

Some patients start to feel improvements 2–3 weeks after starting prTMS® plans, while others notice changes after a few months. Over time, you should experience a better mood, as well as more energy and focus.

How long do results from prTMS® plans last?

Is TMS covered by insurance?

Most insurance providers—including Medicare and Medicaid—cover TMS for treatment-resistant depression. Coverage for other conditions varies. Our office can help verify your benefits and submit all required documentation.

Who is a good candidate for prTMS®?

Most patients with treatment-resistant depression or bad experiences with medications can benefit from prTMS® plans. However, rTMS is not recommended for people with:

Implanted metallic or electronic devices near the head
A history of seizures (evaluated case-by-case)
Certain neurological conditions

Can I drive after a TMS session?
